When I was growing up in the Corporate world, I thought that Entrepreneurship - running your own company - was the American Dream. After all, you were your own boss, could set your own hours, and “the sky was the limit.”
Now, after consulting with over 200 leading organizations, including many private/family-held ventures, I’ve learned that a significant percentage of entrepreneurs are not having a whole lot of fun…in fact, many have shared that they are frustrated and looking forward to starting a new chapter in their lives.
On the other hand, we have a number of clients who, despite the difficult economy, are optimistic about the future and excited about the possibilities their companies offer them to make a difference…while enjoying the process.
In our future blogs, we will be sharing a good bit about what it takes to build “Healthy, Higher Performing Organizations”, and what we have learned from entrepreneurs who are truly “Living the American Dream.”
